12-14-10. James eating a snack. (yogurt and cereal) I just looked through the thumbnails of recent photos of the day, and I realized I have several pictures of kids eating. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing, but it could make for an interesting series of photos.
12-13-10. The Christmas season wouldn't be complete without a popcorn tin. I've received these tins in the past as gifts or giveaways. I've never thought about buying one myself until Kate kept mentioning her craving for the tri-flavored popcorn tin. (cheese, butter, caramel) In my opinion they just need to make one full of caramel. Anyway, the prospects of receiving one as a gift were growing thin, so we decided to buy our own. I've always wondered how the caramel corn was perfectly round, rather than being fluffy like regular popcorn. I envisioned some sort of special popper that popped individual kernels inside a small sphere. Turns out, it isn't that complicated. It is just a special variety of kernel. It is called "Mushroom Popcorn", and it is mostly used for caramel corn. This actually took me awhile to find online, since I didn't know how to search for it. Anyway, now you know a little more about popcorn that you did yesterday.
12-12-10. Camille playing with her penguins and polar bears in the snow. We ended up with about an inch of snow, although it was hard to tell how much we got after the strong wind blew it all around. Camille and I could only stand the wind chill for about 15 or 20 minutes before we headed back inside.
