02-03-11. Snow drifts at my office. After shutting down the office for 2 days, I made it back to work today. Most of the parking lot was cleared, but this section along the back of the building had some impressive drifts.
02-02-11. Snow Angel. After being couped up in the house all day yesterday, I took Camille out to get some fresh air. The sun was shining, and the wind was calm, so it didn't seem too bad outside. I shoveled half of the driveway and cleared the huge pile left by the snowplow. (we live on a quiet street that is less than a block long, with only 10 houses, but the Greene County snow plow always hits our street.) Camille played outside for about 2 hours, and hardly complained about the cold. She had a blast and kept herself entertained. She kept saying "there's so many cool things to do in the snow." I carved a cave out of the huge pile of snow I piled up at the end of the driveway. I also made a slide out of another big pile. Yes, I did all of this 2 days after knee surgery, but I was very careful to keep the stress off of it. My knee actually felt better after loosening it up outside.
02-01-11. The Great Blizzard of 2011. (not as exciting as originally predicted, but still a lot of snow.) I stayed home from work today since all 4 of our offices were closed due to the snow. Our backyard looked like this most of the day. I've never seen it snow so hard for so long. I opened all the curtains and blinds in the house, so I could watch the snow and the birds. Needless to say, it was a fairly lazy day (other than keeping the kids entertained and cleaning up their messes.) We spent 30 minutes getting the kids bundled up, but they didn't last long in the cold, blowing, snow.
