05-23-11. More storm clouds. The only photo I took today.
05-22-11. Rainbow after the storm. We had James' 2nd birthday party this evening. Towards the end of the party we heard reports of a tornado hitting Joplin, with the storm heading towards Springfield. We hurried through the end of the party to get everyone home safe. It turns out that the tornado was the single deadliest tornado in the US in the last 60 years. After getting James to bed, I noticed this strange orange light coming through the windows. I had to go outside to investigate. In addition to the ominous clouds and setting sun, we had a fairly visible double rainbow. By the time I got my camera, it was getting a little faint, but Camille did get a chance to see it. After the rainbow passed, I stayed outside and watched the strangest sky I've seen in a while. We had a beautiful sunset, and even though most of the storm had passed, there were huge streaks of lightning that flashed across the entire sky.
