October 7, 2007 Bike Ride and Zoo Pics

10-07-07. Family Bike Ride. Yes, I still count this as taking the picture myself since I used a tripod and self timer. The lighting isn't the best in the world, but this was the only place I could set my tiny little pocket tripod. This was a fairly spontaneous get-together. We all had fun in spite of the rain at the beginning of our ride. Lily rode in the trailer behind Noel, and Camille rode in the trailer behind me. I have to say that Camille looked pretty darn cute in her pink helmet and sunglasses. She seemed pretty content the entire ride. The highlight of the trip was watching a snake trying to eat a fish that looked to be about 10 times bigger than the snake's mouth. 10-07-07. Snake eating a fish. This was my second choice for photo of the day. On our family bike ride this afternoon, we came across this snake trying to eat a fish. I'm not sure what kind of snake it is, but is sure was ambitious. The fish was actually still alive when I took this photo. You can see the ripples in the water where it was flapping it's tail. From this angle, the fish actually looks smaller than it was in real life. Unfortunately, we didn't get to watch the snake finish its meal. He got spooked and ended up swimming to the other bank with the fish still flopping around in its mouth.
