Miles Boyer > 10-17-08. I shot this while driving home from work. Not the best picture, but it is the only photo I took today.

Miles Boyer > 10-15-08. Dog Vomit Fungus. This was taken just 13 hours after the previous photo. This stuff just pops up over night. I'm amazed how quickly it spread. It eventually turns brown, shrivels up, and then spreads its spores in a smoky dust when you step on it.

Yes it really is that bright yellow. I found this in the mulch around Camille's swingset this evening. I believe it is in the exact spot that I accidentally spilled my beer last week. Weird, huh?

She had been making the silliest faces, but when I got the camera out, she stopped. I settled for a simple look of contentment instead.
Miles Boyer > 10-12-08. Green Grass. One month after planting fescue seed in our new back yard, we've got a pretty good stand of grass coming in.
Miles Boyer > 10-11-08. Hayride and cookout at Thorncrest Farm. A good time was had by all. Grandpa is telling "pooky tories" here.
Miles Boyer > 10-10-08. Tums, tums, tums, tums, tums.

This bat still hasn't moved from its perch in 10 days. If it does leave for the night, it comes back to the EXACT same spot each time. I know that it is still alive because it jumps if it hears a loud noise. I can't imagine that a bat would be able to survive without food for 10 days, but I could be wrong. It is pretty interesting to study up close. Look at those little hairs on its knuckles...Cute.
Miles Boyer > 10-08-08. Sparrow vs. Window (window won)

I know it is a little morbid for a photo of the day, but I didn't take any other pictures today. I heard a loud thud on my office window and knew right away what had happened. I looked outside, and sure enough, the sparrow didn't survive its battle with the window. I couldn't resist the temptation to take a picture of it. I took a close up of just its feathers, but I thought the contrast with the asphalt and harsh shadow was interesting.
Miles Boyer > 10-07-08. Saltines. Yes, this was a last minute effort of digging through the cabinets.
Miles Boyer > 10-06-08. Browning Banana.
