Miles Boyer > 02-28-07. Another Camille photo. She seems to be a prime target for the camera lately. After quickly mastering crawling, she is now pulling herself up on anything she can get her hands on. It is only a matter of time before she'll be running.
Miles Boyer > 02-27-07. Modern Art Guess What This Is.

Wow. I'm actually posting this picture 8 hours earlier than I normally would. Lately, I've been putting off posting my pictures until the last minute. In fact, I just caught up on posting the last 3 days' pictures. I've stuck with taking a new picture each day, but I have gotten behind on posting them. I took this on my lunch break and promptly posted it here. Now I won't have to worry about the potd for the rest of the day.
Miles Boyer > 02-26-07. Guess what this is. Here is a giveaway hint...we have a 7 month old baby who loves to go places she shouldn't.
Miles Boyer > 02-25-07. Camille all dressed up and ready for church. Isn't she a doll.

The dress was worn years ago by one of Kate's cousins.
Miles Boyer > 02-24-07. The Classics. No, I haven't read them. Maybe one of these days.

Kate may correct me, but I believe these belonged to her grandparents.
Miles Boyer > 02-23-07. Ready for the electrical rough-in. As usual, my eye is attracted to a large pile of anything brightly colored.
Miles Boyer > 02-22-07. Swans can be a little creepy up close. I spent my lunch break at a local park. I just had to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather. The ducks, geese, swans, and little kids feeding them kept me entertained.
Miles Boyer > 02-21-07. Another last minute effort.
Miles Boyer > 02-20-07. Camille took a break from crawling just long enough to have her picture taken. She is starting to be quite the explorer. She can crawl from one end of the room to the other in no time at all.

I was playing with her on the floor when I took this picture. She always likes to crawl towards the camera when I have it held up to my eye. She can hardly keep her hands off the camera. Shortly after taking this picture, we had a slight accident involving her pinky finger and my macro lens. My macro lens is not internal focusing, so the whole front of the lens moves in and out while focusing. Camille had crawled up to the camera and was trying to yank it out of my hands while I was trying to take a picture of her. She had her fingers wrapped around the front of the lens for a split second as the camera tried to focus. As the front of the lens moved in towards the camera, it pinched her little pinky finger. I didn't realize it had happened for a couple seconds because she didn't act like anything was wrong. When I realized her finger was pinched, I quickly switched the lens to manual focus and released the tension. Then she started to cry. This is probably her first boo boo besides a few minor bumps to the head. She had a good cry for a few minutes until I soothed her to sleep. I felt so bad for her. So the lesson of the day is to not let small children wrap their fingers around a non-internally focused lens with a strong focus motor.

My other photo possibility for the day was a road runner bird. I didn't even know they existed in Missouri, but I definitely saw one today. I decided to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather on my lunch break. I took a quick drive with the windows down on my lunch-break. As I turned the corner on a back road just outside of town, I saw this obnoxiously huge bird running across the road. It ran into a field and stopped about 50 feet from me. I quickly grabbed my camera, but I only had my 60mm macro with me. Also, I had left the camera on manual mode with some crazy settings in place from the night before. I quickly took a few shots before I realized my mistake. I changed the camera settings, but the bird had started to make a run for it. I got out of my truck and thought I might get a little closer. Every time I would start to sneak up on it, it would make a run for it. It would get just out of reach and then stop. So I would try to sneak up on it again. No luck. At this point, I was feeling a bit like the coyote from the cartoon. Luckily there was nobody around to see how silly I looked. I ended up chasing the bird for about half a mile across the field, but I never got close enough for a decent picture. The only photos I got were pretty lousy and not worth showing. About the only thing they are good for is proof that I actually saw the bird.
