Miles Boyer > 02-07-08. No hidden meaning here. I just had a blank piece of paper and a pen sitting in front of me as I was thinking about the photo of the day.
Miles Boyer > 02-06-08. This last minute effort didn't measure up to my expectations. For those of you who are wondering, this is actually a 9- not a 6.
Miles Boyer > 02-05-08. Happy Super Fat Tuesday.
Miles Boyer > 02-04-08. Cruising Camille.

We had an unseasonably warm day today. When I got home from work, Camille was playing in the driveway with the neighbor kids. They brought over their tricycle, and Camille thought she was pretty cool playing with the older kids. She actually came pretty close to pedalling herself, but she mainly had fun just sitting on the trike.
Miles Boyer > 02-03-08. Last minute effort. Stitched leather coasters sitting on our desk. Available light from computer monitor and overhead light. This turned out to be a 9 second exposure. No tripod was used- I just set the camera on the desk. Maybe I should say this is a last minute lack-of-effort.

SEE THE TIME LAPSE VIDEO HERE

I installed 450 square feet of laminate flooring in the basement today. This room will be a general purpose family/living/studio/bar space. We didn't want carpet in this room, and the laminate was a pretty good bang for the buck.

This stuff goes down fairly quick, but fitting pieces in doorways and around corners can be a bit time consuming.

At the beginning of this project, I decided to set up my camera and use the interval timer in order to put together a time-lapse movie. I've been wanting to do this for a while, but I've never pulled it off. I think the movie turned out pretty well. Kate and I watched it about 5 times in a row and laughed all the way through it. (the cats provided a funny distraction from the floor laying.)

I tried posting the movie here on my site, but I couldn't get it to play correctly. I'll continue to work on that. In the meantime, I've posted it on YouTube here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=rspkVi0Uek0

Miles Boyer > 02-01-08. Stack Em Up and Knock Em Down.

I know I've taken a similar photo before, but this was all I took today. Camille can actually stack these up now, but she still prefers to knock them down.
Miles Boyer > 01-31-08. Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow.

Our "BIG" winter storm hasn't amounted to much here in Springfield. Quite a few local schools were cancelled or dismissed early, and that was before it even started snowing.

Last night they were forecasting 5-10 inches, but as you can see, we barely have 3. It has been coming down fairly hard at times, but it looks like it is about to taper off for the night.
Miles Boyer > 01-30-08. Last minute shot of the yellow pages. Make that the yellow, red, green, light blue, and blue pages.
Miles Boyer > 01-29-08. Leaf Catcher.

We had some wild weather in the Ozarks today. We had very pleasant temps in the 60s this morning. At about 11:00 the wind kicked in as a cold front came through. The temperature dropped 24 degrees in one hour. As I write this caption at 8:30 PM, the temperature is a mere 21 degrees outside. The wind is also still howling. The National Weather Service recorded wind gusts of 45 mph in Springfield today.

This technically isn't that great of a photo, but I thought it was appropriate for a windy day.
Miles Boyer > 01-28-08. Procrastination.

I've gotten a few days behind on posting my photo of the day. I've still been taking them, I just haven't felt like putting forth the enormous effort to post them.
Miles Boyer > 01-27-08. Camille and Nora.

Fairly lousy photo, but I only had the small point and shoot camera with me (I hate shutter lag).

They sure have fun playing together, although they are both guilty of playing too rough sometimes.
Miles Boyer > 01-26-08. MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) Shavings. Looks like a bouquet of flowers I think. This is what happens when you drill through MDF with a wood paddle bit.

I spent the day working on trim and few other miscellaneous projects in the basement.
Miles Boyer > 01-25-08. Happy Birthday Gigi.
Miles Boyer > 01-24-08. What is wrong with this photo? Actually, nothing is wrong with it-- something is just different. I may have made a slight change to this photo. Do you know what it is?

This isn't an obvious change. You would have to know what this item is used for, and then you might have to think about it for awhile... Or you might not care about thinking about it, and you might just take if for what you see.
