I'm finally posting this picture and caption on 11-19-08 to let everyone know that I've given up on taking a new photo everyday. This wasn't a planned end to this commitment I've made for 1391 days in a row. I simply forgot to take a picture on 11-03-08. When I realized the next day that I hadn't taken a photo, I was a little upset with myself, but I was also relieved. I think the novelty of this project had faded, and the fact that I had broken the routine made for a good time to stop.

I've taken a few weeks off now, and I definitely feel something is missing, but I also feel relieved. I will probably try to come up with an alternative project to keep this website active. Maybe a photo of the week- or maybe just random photos posted at random times. Stay tuned....

Camille and I spent the morning playing in the backyard. She kept herself occupied by picking up acorns, fossils, leaves, and other "treasures." I kept myself occupied by taking pictures of her and other little creatures. I thought I would post a picture of something else besides Camille for a change. I couldn't resist this fuzzy caterpillar on a bright red dogwood leaf.

Good time was had by all. Mary did a pretty good job of keeping "one eye" on Camille.

I seem to be on a roll with Camille and cat pictures lately, so I thought I would post another.

Miles Boyer > 10-29-08. Pumpkin Portrait.

We carved our pumpkins this evening. Camille was pretty excited about the whole process. She really wanted to poke holes in the pumpkins using the safety carving tool. Unfortunately her pumpkin was rock hard, so the safety carver wouldn't work. It was all I could do to jab a knife into that thing, so I had to settle for a simple design. Camille did have fun playing with the pumpkin seeds and slime.

After we finished she didn't want to put her pumpkin down. She just wanted to carry it around all night.

Miles Boyer > 10-28-08. Camille the Fairy at Spooktacular. We had to bundle her up in warm clothes since it was so cold. You can't see her tutu, but I think she was still a pretty cute fairy with her wings and magic wand.

Miles Boyer > 10-27-08. Tea party with her new stocking cap. When I got home from work, Camille was excited to show off her new stocking cap. And I was pretty excited to see her smile. She is finally starting to get the smile-on-command for the camera.

Miles Boyer > 10-25-08. Happy Girl. She is playing with her "magic wand" taken from the top of some decorative grass.

My project for yesterday was building and staining the shutters you see in the background. This morning, I installed them. The stain turned out just a tad too orange, but I'll let it fade a little bit and maybe stain it with a bit more brown.

No, it isn't Oliver. This is the neighbor's cat. He is peeking down a chipmunk hole in our backyard. He had been guarding the hole for about an hour when I decided to take a picture of him.
